Whiskey Lake is 50 kms or 35 miles north and west of Massey, Ontario. Massey
is on highway 17 about three hours east of Sault Ste. Marie and one hour
west of Sudbury.
At Massey the
directions are as follows :
1: Turn north at the only traffic light, continue past
Chutes Provincial Park at the edge of town on highway 553. Hwy 553 is a
wide, well maintained gravel road that continues 22 miles (30 kms) to Bull Lake.
At Bull Lake the road becomes highway 810 and continues north another 30 miles
(50 kms) to
2: To reach Whiskey Lake continue past Bull Lake for 2 miles (5 kms)
on Hwy 810. The road crosses a one lane, steel Bailey bridge and immediately
forks. The right fork is Hwy 810 to Sauble Lake.
3: Turn left onto the Whiskey
Lake road. The Whiskey Lake road is 10 miles (17 kms) long and ends at
Whiskey Lake. There are a few logging roads that lead off the Whiskey Lake road.
The logging roads are narrower and less maintained than the wide, well graveled
Whiskey Lake road. The road crosses another steel bailey bridge about 5 miles
from the junction with highway 810 and skirts the edge of Conley Lake before
reaching Whiskey Lake.
